About the Class:

Join us on a fantastic, exciting and at times fast paced day to create stunning pots using this ancient and dramatic technique of raku firing.

You will choose two ready made bisque fired pots from an offered selection, and from a large array of colours, crackle and iridescent glazes create your chosen effects. After a short firing in the kiln (while you have lunch) we will use heat and combustible materials to create fire and smoke which reacts with the glazes to produce the unique style of raku.

Professional potter Gordon Broadhurst and his studio technician will guide you through the process so you have 2 individual finished pots to take home at the end of the day.

All materials and equipment are provided. It is advisable to bring an apron and not wear your best clothes!

Bring a pack lunch and we have a fridge that’s available to use for storage!

Suitable for complete beginners and beyond.

Most people attend these workshops alone and make friends with like-minded people on the day, so please don’t worry about coming solo!


CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING POLICY

Cancellations over one month before the course start date are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations between one calendar month and the start date of the course are only refundable at our discretion, this relies heavily on the ability to fill your place. You may send a substitute participant.

If we need to cancel a workshop or course due to unforeseen circumstances we will aim to give as much notice as possible and a full refund. We cannot accept any liability for travel or other costs.
