Thursday 19th October 2023
Join us on a fantastic, exciting and fast paced day to create stunning pots using this ancient and dramatic technique of raku firing.🔥
You will choose two bisque fired pots to glaze from a large selection of colours, crackle and iridescent glazes. After a short firing in the kiln (while you have lunch) we will use heat and combustible materials to create fire and smoke which reacts with the glazes to produce the unique style of raku.
Professional potter Gordon Broadhurst and his studio technician will guide you through the process so you have 2 individual finished pots to take home at the end of the day.
All materials and equipment are provided, bring an apron!
You will be greeted with a hot drink and a pastry on arrival and refreshments throughout the day are provided.
Suitable for complete beginners and beyond.
