Join master potter, Gordon Broadhurst, at our Raku workshops here at Hopewell Studios.

You will be given two pottery items that Gordon has meticulously hand-crafted at his North Yorkshire studio prior to the session.

Full instructions on glazes, how to glaze, the firing process, reduction and finishing your pots will be provided throughout the day. All materials are provided.

Depending on your choice of glazes and the way you apply and layer them will give you a design unique to you on the day.

Come and enjoy the magic of Raku on our beautiful Knaresborough working farm.
No experience necessary!

About your tutor:

Gordon Broadhurst, master potter, has over 45 years of experience working in the field of ceramics, including teaching Ceramics and 3-D Design in Further and Higher Education. He uses the local environment, landscape and mineral resources as well as his observations of the local flora and seasonal changes as sources of inspiration for ideas that he incorporates into his ceramics.


What’s included:

All materials and equipment throughout the course - two hand-crafted pieces to fire and take home.

Qualified and experienced Ceramic Tutor.

You will be greeted with a hot tea or coffee and pastries on arrival, drinks are provided throughout the day.
Please bring a packed lunch with you.

Most people attend these workshops alone and make friends with like-minded people on the day, so please don’t worry about coming solo!
